Earthlings

A couple weeks ago I happened upon this video -I don't know why I watched it, considering I don't eat animals why torment myself? Honestly, I couldn't even watch the whole thing, but I definitely believe it is something everyone that isn't vegan absolutely SHOULD watch... it's important to know what you are supporting. It has profoundly changed me. I've always had strict vegetarian leanings for health and environmental reasons and while I've many times had people express emotional, spiritual, concern for animals to me as reasons to eat this way it never really *hit* me until I watched this.

We are all earthlings after all.

Only Me?

I just noticed I'm the only person to list Good Night, Baby Bear as a favorite book... this just can't be! I'm going to go as far as to say this is a MUST READ for all parents -it's what mothering is all about.... and to find out what fathering is all about see Danny, Champion of the World.
I must admit I have a much greater respect for those folks who actually manage to frequently post things on their blogs. For me I'm finding one of the major struggles is having to sign in... just that one little bit is a sometimes seemingly insurmountable obstacle.

And then, yeah, once I actually manage to get past that, I can't help but think, was all that effort *worth* it? Because here I am, finally, once again, and I have absolutely nothing to say...

Only me...

Oh, I'm sure we all think that, but it seems whenever I fall in-love with some*thing* it disappears. Last night being the perfect example... I was attempting to create a countdown playlist because one of my all time favorite ways of spending new year's eve is listening to all the best songs of the year but apparently there just aren't any great stations here that do that, so I've been deprived for years and I thought this year I will just do it myself. Trouble is, I couldn't find a good list for the top 100 songs of 2007... I did find the rolling stone list, but just way too much not my kind of music there. In my search I found the Amazon.com customer favorites for 2007 top 100. I listened to the number 100 choice album and it was fabulous, I absolutely loved it... it wasn't a group I had ever heard before and something I would never come across otherwise and I was absolutely thrilled I found something new I enjoyed so much. I couldn't wait to share with the family today, but when I went to Amazon's site, it was gone! Only 99 albums were listed and the one I fell in-love with was gone, and I cannot for the life of me remember any of the song titles or name of the group... it was 3am and I had way too much going on and didn't bother to even process the name because I was going to just come back to it later. I can't believe it... why did it disappear? I keep hoping it will show back up... it's just so bizarre I'm utterly baffled. I just keep telling myself if it did show back up and I listened again maybe I would hate it... oh, but it's just so frustrating, and strangely eerie to me, that the one one I was interested in would be gone just like that....
